Aims and Objectives
The programme aims to provide a broad range of chemical engineering techniques. The main objective of the programme is to produce a graduate capable of designing manufacturing plants with optimized performance while preserving the environment and keeping the processes economic and viable. Duration is five (5) years.
Chemical engineers are involved in the design, development, construction and operation of industrial processes for the production of a diverse range of products, as well as in commodity and specialty chemicals. Relevant industries include oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, energy, water treatment, food and drink, plastics , mining and toiletries. Modern chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable new materials and techniques, such as nanotechnology, fuel cells and biomedical engineering.
1 BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING IN CHEMICAL AND PROCESSING ENGINEERING HONOURS DEGREE (Conventional)
Prospective students must comply with General Regulations for Undergraduate Degrees at the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences. Entry requirements for acceptance are Advanced Level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics or any other Science subject.
2 BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING IN CHEMICAL AND PROCESSING ENGINEERING HONOURS DEGREE (Visiting School)
In order to qualify for acceptance to the BSc Engineering in Chemical and Processing Honours Degree (Visiting School) programme the candidate, in addition to satisfying the minimum conditions prescribed under the General Regulations, must have obtained the following qualifications:
