Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) officially commenced its 2026 academic year at the Fern Hill Main Campus with a comprehensive orientation program designed to integrate new students into the university’s unique academic culture.

The five-day event which is facilitated by the Student Affairs Department in collaboration with various university units, welcomed a diverse cohort of learners from across the nation.

The orientation served as a critical introduction to university operations, featuring essential presentations from departments including Campus Security, Catering, Health Services, Library Services, Information Communication Technology, as well as Marketing, Information and Public Relations

Addressing incoming students, the Executive Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Isheunesu Amon Chaka, highlighted the profound shift in mindset required at university level.

“You are not just joining a university; you are entering a ‘Communiversity’—a unique framework that harnesses the collaborative power between centers of knowledge production and knowledge application,” stated Dr. Chaka.

Dr Chaka outlined the university’s commitment to Education 5.0, a philosophy that moves beyond simple knowledge acquisition toward the mastery of higher-order cognition.

He further urged students to “start strong to finish strong,” reminding them that they now carry the MSUAS brand and must represent the institution with honor in all disciplines.

Assurance was given to the first cohort that the Student Affairs Department remains a dedicated support network, providing advocacy and crisis intervention whenever needed.

As these future leaders embark on their journey of discovery, MSUAS continues to solidify its reputation as a beacon of academic excellence and a premier center for applied sciences in the Manicaland province and beyond.
