In a bid to strengthen its operational frameworks in research, innovation, and sustainable development, Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) recently hosted an intensive induction workshop for newly recruited staff at its Fernhill Campus.
\nThe new employees were drawn from both teaching and non-teaching departments, reflecting the University\u2019s commitment to building a well-rounded and capable workforce.
\nThe programme was designed to integrate the new staff into MSUAS\u2019s culture of service excellence. Participants received comprehensive briefings on the University\u2019s organisational structure, human resources policies, and campus safety protocols, library services, among others. This was meant at equipping them to effectively navigate both academic and administrative environments.
\nSpeaking during the induction, MSUAS Pro-Vice Chancellor, Upenyu Guyo, underscored the critical role of staff as ambassadors of the institution and challenged them to internalise the University\u2019s values from the onset of their tenure.
\n\u201cYou are now the custodians and primary bearers of the MSUAS brand,\u201d Professor Guyo said. \u201cI urge you to let efficiency, professional competence, and discipline guide your daily operations. Our ultimate mandate is to produce graduates who are not only academically sound, but who possess the character and skills necessary to drive meaningful transformation locally and globally.\u201d
\nThe workshop served as a key platform for aligning staff with Education 5.0 \u2014 Zimbabwe\u2019s heritage-based philosophy that emphasises innovation, industrialisation and sustainable development.
\nBy grounding new personnel in these core pillars, MSUAS ensures that every unit \u2014 from lecture rooms to administrative offices \u2014 operates under a shared institutional vision.
