The programme is further informed by regional and international standards on democratic policing, human rights, and local governance.<\/p><h2><strong>Objectives of the qualification<\/strong><\/h2><p>The objectives of the Certificate in Municipal Law Enforcement are to:<\/p><ol><li>Develop competent, disciplined, and professional municipal law enforcement officers capable of applying legal and procedural knowledge in practical settings.<\/li><li>Enable trainees to interpret and apply key municipal laws, by-laws, and standard operating procedures for enforcement.<\/li><\/ol><ul><li>Promote constitutionalism, human rights, ethical conduct, and accountability in local law enforcement operations.<\/li><\/ul><ol><li>Develop practical competencies in conducting investigations, making lawful arrests, providing prosecution support, and managing court procedures.<\/li><li>Strengthen community-oriented and problem-solving approaches to enhance public safety and compliance.<\/li><\/ol><h2><strong>Duration<\/strong><\/h2><p>12 months full-time<\/p><h2><strong>Entry requirements<\/strong><\/h2><p>To qualify for entry into the Certificate, a candidate must satisfy the following requirements:<\/p><ul><li>A minimum of 5 Ordinary Level subjects, including English Language.<\/li><li>Preference will be given to applicants with professional qualifications and experience in law enforcement and\/ security services.<\/li><li>Applicants with relevant professional qualifications and demonstrated competence in Law Enforcement and Policing Services <em><u>may be<\/u><\/em> considered under Special Entry regulations subject to the provision of a letter of recommendation from former or current employer, and meeting any other requirements as might be considered necessary by the Institute from time to time.<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><h2><strong>Contact Details<\/strong><\/h2><p><strong>Physical Address<\/strong>: <br \/>Faculty of Agribusiness Management and Applied Social Sciences, <br \/>Fernhill Campus, <br \/>P.
