MSUAS SHINES AT 2024 PRESIDENTIAL INNOVATION FAIR

Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) hogged limelight at the momentous and auspicious Presidential Innovation Fair when the institution came second in the Mining Innovation Category.

Running under the theme “Innovation for Attainment of Vision 2030”, the event saw various institutions of higher learning and individuals receiving awards, certificates and trophies for excelling on innovation.

MSUAS was awarded a certificate and trophy for a presentation on gold recovery technology. The innovation focuses on percolation-leaching process for optimum recovery for the artisanal and small-scale gold projects.

In his keynote address, His Excellency, President Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa highlighted that innovations support the notion of the Second Republic philosophy “nyika inovakwa nevene vayo, illizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo”.

“Innovations are a pure reflection of country’s development, and the government will continue to provide a conducive environment for inventions, this includes support through capital and reliable markets,” President Mnangagwa said.

Additionally, the MSUAS Valley Seeds-Seed Maize project was nominated among the industry-academia collaborations category.

MSUAS’ recognition at the 2024 Presidential Innovation Fair demonstrates the University’s commitment to innovation, research and entrepreneurship as it seeks to maintain its position as a reputable institution of higher learning in line with Education 5.0.
