  1. DEPARTMENT OF MINING AND MINERAL PROCESSING       ENGINEERING
    • Staff Development Fellow – Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering (2 Posts)

            Duties and Responsibilities

 

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate             students’ research work, carry out research and marking assignments.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Must have a first Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent with class 2.1. or better.
  • Be willing to enrol for Masters or currently enrolled for Masters Degree.
    • Staff Development Fellow – Metallurgy (2 Posts)

            Duties and Responsibilities

 

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate             students’ research work, carry out research and marking assignments.

  • Must have a first Degree in Metallurgy/ Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent with class 2.1. or better.
  • Be willing to enrol for Masters or currently enrolled for Masters Degree.

 

 

            Please note that the duties and responsibilities of Staff Development                     Fellows are grouped into 5 pillars of education 5.0 as follows:

  1. Teaching

The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and/or Faculty guidelines and standards.

  1. University Service and Community Engagement

      

       The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.

 

  • Research

 

The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

 

  1. Innovation

 

The incumbent is expected to engage in innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.

 

  1. Industrialisation

Through commercialisation of goods and services.
