Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) recently hosted an exclusive public lecture in conjunction with Public Service Commission (PSC).

Running under the theme “Cultivating Change-where Science, Technology and Agriculture meet”, the objective was to shed light on PSC’s constitutional mandate and its core values as well as to examine symbiotic relationship between science, technology, innovation and agriculture focusing on how they catalyse each other to foster breakthroughs and discoveries.

In his welcome remarks, MSUAS Acting Vice-Chancellor and Executive Dean-Research Innovation and Postgraduate Studies, Dr Crispen Bhukuvani said:

“We appreciate the PSC for their willingness to partner with MSUAS in creating a sustainable body for knowledge within the University community. It is my fervent hope that this event marks the genesis of a lifelong relationship which brings with it the critical value that is required in driving our nation as we strive to achieve vision 2030.”

Commenting about the public lecture, Commissioner Ambassador James Manzou representing Chairman to the Service Commissions Dr Vincent Hungwe highlighted that:

“PSC is part of this inclusive agenda, and the geographical location of this university in Manicaland Province is an enhancer to our aim of reaching all institutions that are contributing to the human resource development of our citizens. The institutional values and commitment to uphold the principles of Heritage 5.0 to cultivate an enlightened human capital resonates with the advancement and development trajectory of our country as we sprint towards our aspirations which are well articulated in vision 2030.”

The overly subscribed lecture was attended by MSUAS staff and students from various faculties and departments within the University.
