1. DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE & INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Part-Time Lecturer (3 Posts)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and have practical experience in computing modules such as:
• Programming.
• Using python.
• Machine learning.
• Artificial Intelligence.
• Data Mining Simulation and Modelling.
• Computer Security.
• Computer graphics.
• Data analytics.
• Image processing.

Desired Qualifications

• MSc or MCom Data Science, Data Analytics, Big Data, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems or Equivalent.
• BSc in Data Science, Data Analytics, Big Data, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering Telecoms, Information Systems or equivalent.
• A relevant PhD will be an added advantage.
• Post graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent.
• Experience in teaching and/or supporting learning in higher education.

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

I. Teaching
The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and/or Faculty guidelines and standards.

II. University Service and Community Engagement

​The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.

III. Research

​The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

IV. Innovations

​​Innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.

V. Industrialisation

​​​Through commercialisation of goods and services.
