Running under the theme ‘Eco-Resilient Destinations: Leveraging Sustainable Futures through Responsible Tourism,’ the event was attended by delegates such as academics, learners, policymakers and industry leaders
Guest of Honour to the conference, Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Hon Fredrick Shava, represented by Deputy Minister Hon Simelisizwe Sibanda, underscored the link between education, innovation and tourism urging students to champion sustainability, inclusivity and heritage preservation in line with Heritage-Based Education 5.0.
The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi, also praised tertiary students’ ingenuity. She emphasized on the Ministry’s commitment to nurturing young talent and assured them of full support that will bring innovative business ideas into successful ventures.
On displays, MSUAS is making a splash through a range of cutting-edge, student-led ideas aimed at enhancing the tourism sector.
These innovations are a direct result of university’s applied sciences programmes, which cover various fields from agro-tourism to technology.
The displays show how MSUAS is becoming center of research and development, contributing to the country’s economic growth and modernising key industries such as tourism and hospitality.
