In a bid to champion environmental sustainability and answer the national call to service, Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences today participated in a Clean-Up Campaign, reaffirming its role as a leader in civic responsibility.
This initiative serves as a localised response to the national directive established by the University’s Chancellor, His Excellency President E.D. Mnangagwa, who designated the first Friday of every month as a day for citizens to unite in cleaning the environment.
In alignment with the national vision, MSUAS Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Upenyu Guyo, emphasised that the university’s mission extends far beyond the routine of environmental maintenance.
“Today’s campaign is a powerful demonstration of our institutional values in action. By prioritizing a clean and safe campus, we are doing more than just beautifying our surroundings; we are cultivating a culture of personal responsibility and environmental stewardship,” said Prof Guyo.
The turnout of staff from all departments serves as testament to MSUAS’s commitment to environmental stewardship.
By cleaning its surroundings, MSUAS ensures that the campus remains a safe and healthy hub, designed to inspire the next generation of innovation and learning.
