The ICP at Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) is a pioneering centre of excellence dedicated to advancing disaster resilience, emergency preparedness, and fire safety management. Established through a strategic collaboration between MSUAS and the City of Mutare, the institute bridges academia and practice to equip professionals with cutting edge skills in civil protection. Through specialised training, research and community engagement, ICP empowers individuals and institutions to mitigate risks, respond effectively to disasters, and build safer, more resilient communities. Our programs blend scientific expertise, policy innovation, and real-world application, making ICP a hub for shaping the future of civil protection in Zimbabwe and beyond.
Programmes
While ICP currently offers a Certificate in Fire Science and Civil Protection, plans to introduce degree programmes in Fire Engineering Sciences and Disaster Risk Management are underway.
