1 VICE CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE

1.1.1 Chief Systems Developer (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Software system design and engineering.
- Software architecture and design.
- Designing secure, scalable and modular systems for University applications.
- Software systems development planning and technical task coordination.
- Performance engineering and continuous improvement of applications.
- Backup execution and recovery testing.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- BSc Information Technology or equivalent.
- MSc Information Technology or equivalent.
- At least 3 years in development environment.
1.1.2 Chief Webmaster (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Web systems design and engineering.
- Web services architecture design.
- Web systems development planning and technical task coordination.
- Web services performance engineering and continuous improvement planning.
- Backup execution and system recovery planning.
- Backup execution and recovery testing.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- BSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
- MSc in Computer Science is an added advantage.
- At least 4 years in progressive experience in responsive website development, system design.
- Exposure to public sector or University ICT environments.
2 REGISTRY DEPARTMENT
2.1 HUMAN RESOURCE SECTION
2.1.1 PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, HR (2 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the HR Director in formulating and reviewing of polices as well as implementing and monitoring of HR policies.
- Assist in ensuring that policies SOPs process and systems are adhered to by the HR Section on all human capital resourcing activities.
- Ensuring that each HR portfolio establishes and implements relevant HR metrics and dashboard.
- Ensure compliance with University policies and HR legislation in the day to day activities of the section.
- Keeping abreast with trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in HR management and employment laws.
- Preform other duties as assigned.
- Assist the HR Director in overseeing all HR activities from employee entry, stay and exit.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- BSc HRM or equivalent,
- At least a master’s degree in HRM or equivalent.
- At least 5 years’ experience in the HR field.
- In depth knowledge and application of Zimbabwean labor laws is a must.
- Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of NEC Construction and Agriculture Industry operations a must.
2.1.2 ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, HR (3 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Principal Assistant Registrar in implementing HR policies and SOPs.
- Assist in faculty and departmental HR planning.
- Assist in the identification, attraction and retention of talent.
- Conduct staff induction.
- Identify and coordinate staff training and development programmes.
- Administer employee contracts in time with labor laws and maintaining an accurate employee data base.
- Create, review and maintain job descriptions.
- Assist in handling employee grievances and disciplinary processes.
- Leave management.
- Service University Committees.
- Any other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- BSc in HRM or equivalent.
- MSc in HRM is an added advantage.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of NEC Agriculture and Construction Industry operations a must.
- Good communication skills and interpersonal relations.
- Knowledge of Labour Laws and best practices in HR field.
2.2 SECRETARIAT
2.2.1 ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, SECRETARIAT (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage University committees and admin process.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, official records and advising staff on University regulations.
- Serves as liaison with various stakeholders, including Board Executives, academics and support stuff and central administration offices.
- Records management.
- Assist in ensuring integrity of the governance frame work of the University in compliance with the statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and management of the Committees diary.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Undergraduate Degree in English and Communication and Media Studies or any related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar position in a University.
- Demonstrate an excellent command of the English language, possess an eye for detail.
- Strong tie management skills.
- Strong ability to organize work schedules and administrative tasks and committee meetings.
- BURSAR’S DEPARTMENT
3.1 PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT BURSAR, SALARIES (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing the efficient running of the University payrolls.
- Ensuring the accuracy and correctness of all payroll information in respect of earnings and deductions.
- Processing of Payroll information (Journals) in the Accounting Package and reconciliations.
- Attending to audit queries on payroll related matters.
- Liaising with HR department and other clients in respect of payroll related issues.
- Secretary to the MSUAS Pension Board of Trustees.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- A Master’s Degree in Accounting and Finance.
- Member to Accounting Professional Board is an added advantage.
- At least level 2 Paywell Training
- Knowledge of Accounting Software such as Pastel, SERP.
- At least 3 years working experience.
- Ability to attend to matters in detail and be accurate with figures.
3.2 ASSISTANT BURSAR, NON CURRENT ASSETS (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares asset register in accordance with IPSAS requirements.
- Reviews assets schedules to reconcile with trial balance.
- Prepares journals, reviews and authorities journals originated by subordinates.
- Monitors assets movement and locations.
- Updating assets inventory.
- Performs biological assets reconciliations.
- Computation of deferred income journals.
- Prepares and maintains audit files and schedules.
- Preforms assets counting and verifications.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting
- A Master’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or Business Administration is an added advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of Accounting Software’s i.e. Pastel.
- At least 2 years of financial and management reporting experience.
- Organized and process- oriented, with attention to detail and able to prioritize workloads.
- Good analytical skills to share complex and dynamic financial issues.
3.3 ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, STORES (2 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Processing of purchase requisitions.
- Maintaining stores records.
- Capturing of all receipts and issues in the accounting system.
- Conducting stock-take.
- Issuing of stocks and maintaining up to date bin cards.
- Receiving all incoming shipments.
- Conducting spot checks on stock items.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Business Management and Supply Chain Management.
- At least 2 years working experience in stores management.
- Knowledge of Accounting Software such as Pastel, SERP.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMMENT
4.1 MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, PAINTER (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Painting of the new buildings.
- Repainting of old buildings.
- Identifying cracks on buildings and crack filing
- Identifying window frames for repainting.
- Mixing and tinting of colours as per specifications.
- Applying primers on stool works
- Assist in steel fixing.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Class 1 Journeyman Certificate.
- Class 4 Drivers license.
