1. MINING AND MINERAL PROCESSING ENGINEERING

1.1. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor: Mining   and Mineral Processing Engineering (1 Post)

          Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to lead in relevant research activities and supervise students research and is also expected to teach at least three of the following modules:

Computer applications in mining.
Rock Breaking.
Introduction to mining and metallurgy.

             Desired Qualifications

MSc/ MEng in Mining and Mineral Processing or equivalent.
BSc/BEng in Mining and Mineral Processing or equivalent.
A relevant PhD is an added advantage.
Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is a distinct advantage.

1.2. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor: Metallurgy (1 Post)

      Duties and Responsibilities

      The incumbent is expected to lead in relevant research activities and supervise

      Students’ research and teach the following modules

Foundry Technology.
Technological Entrepreneurship.
Metallurgical Thermodynamics.

             Desired Qualifications

MSc/ MEng in Metallurgy or equivalent.
BSc/BEng in Metallurgy or equivalent.
A relevant PhD is an added advantage.
Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is a distinct advantage.

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

I. Teaching

The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

II. University Service and Community Engagement

The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.

III. Research

The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

IV. Innovations

The incumbent is expected to bring innovations, which should lead to production of goods and services.

V. Industrialisation

The incumbent should be industrial through commercialisation of goods and services.
