Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences, MSUAS, has reaffirmed its commitment to producing industry-ready graduates through a comprehensive Work-Related Learning, WRL, workshop designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world professional practice., Held at the University’s Fernhill Campus, the workshop brought together students preparing to embark on their industrial placements.
The event provided practical insights, mindset development, and professional strategies to help them transition effectively into the workplace., Guest of honour and Holiday Inn Mutare general manager, Charlton Chimbira, challenged the students to equip themselves with what he referred to as “the universal toolkit” for career readiness., “Your social media must be saturated with information related to your area of study. Research your industry. Understand it inside and out. Do not wait for knowledge to come to you — pitch for it, ” he said.,

Wherever you will be doing your Work-Related Learning, be inquisitive, ” she encouraged., Other facilitators and stakeholders contributed to the programme, providing additional guidance on professional ethics, workplace adaptability, communication, and soft skills.
