Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences joined the Zimbabwe Gender Commission in celebrating the 2024 Male Engagement Symposium held at Mutare Sports club recently.

Drawing over 1000 male participants that included college students, government ministries, corporate organizations, as well as community leaders, the event gave the University Counsellor, Tariro Munamati, an opportunity to interact with men from different social backgrounds.

Commenting on the event and experience, Ms Munamati said, “It was a thrill and great opportunity to gather undiluted mental health sentiments from men and this made me appreciate the importance of male inclusion in mental health programmes through supporting their mental health needs.”

Mental health remains crucial for society as it impacts individuals, communities and economies.

As a reflection of its enthusiasm to providing mental health support, the university remains devoted in assisting the community with psycho-social support services.
