- WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT
1.1 TAILOR (1 POST)
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- At least a Certificate in Clothing and Textiles or any related field.
- At least one year sewing experience.
- Experience in sewing high quality personal protective clothing, sportswear and interior deco utilities.
- Experience in working with industrial sewing machines and over locking machines.
- Able to read and understand patterns.
- Experience in the industry or University set-up will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Measure clients to determine accurate garment sizes and specifications.
- Precisely and accurately cutting fabrics according to patterns and measurements.
- Sew fabric pieces together using appropriate stitching techniques.
- Perform alterations and repairs on garments ensuring a perfect fit and finish.
- Providing advice on fabric selection.
- Ensure that garments sewn meet quality standards.
- Maintaining a safe work environment.
- Perform minor machine adjustment for fault finding or better line performance.
- Maintaining an organized and clean work area.
- Drafting requisition and record keeping.
