1. DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED ACCOUNTING
1.1. Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach the following modules:
• Financial Accounting
• Accounting Information Systems
• Advanced Financial Reporting.
Desired Qualifications
• MCom Accounting or equivalent.
• Must have a BCom Accounting or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
• Membership with an Accounting Professional Qualification is an added advantage.
• A tertiary teaching qualification is another added advantage.
• A relevant PhD is a distinct advantage.
• Experience in teaching.
2. DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
2.1. Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (4 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate must be capable of teaching HR modules, supervising undergraduate students’ research work and carrying out research. The incumbent will also be involved in various university service activities, work related learning students’ supervision and community engagement.
Desired Qualifications
• MSc in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
• Must have a BSc in Human Resource Management or equivalent with at least a 2.1 pass.
• A PGDE qualification is an added advantage.
• A PhD in Human Resource Management or equivalent is a distinct advantage.
• Experience in teaching.
Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:
I. Teaching
The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and/or Faculty guidelines and standards.
II. University Service and Community Engagement
The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.
III. Research
The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.
IV. Innovations
The incumbent is expected to engage in innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.
V. Industrialisation
The incumbent is expected to be industrial through commercialisation of goods and services.
