  1.  AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND DEVELOPMENT

            Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

            Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent is expected to lead in relevant research activities and supervise students’ research and is expected to teach at least three of the following modules:

  • Cropping systems.
  • Nutrient cycling and Water Management.
  • Integrated Post Management.
  • Grass and Forage Management.

              Desired Qualifications

  • MSc in Crop Science or equivalent.
  • BSc in Agriculture Crop Science or equivalent.
  • A relevant PhD is an added advantage.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is a distinct advantage.
  1. DEPARTMENT OF APPLIED BUSINESS SCIENCES

            Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

       Duties and Responsibilities 

       The incumbent is expected to lead in relevant research activities and supervise

       Students’ research and teach the following modules

  • Lecturing in Business Communication.
  •  Basic Communication Skills and Public Relations.

              Desired Qualifications

  • BA (Hons) in English/Linguistics or equivalent.
  • MA /MPHIL in English/Linguistics or equivalent.
  • A relevant PhD in English or Linguistics is an added advantage

3        DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION

           SYSTEMS

    3.1   Post A- Assistant Lecturer- Cyber Security and Forensic Computing

           Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students ‘research work, carry out research and have practical experience in a range of cyber security and forensics technical skills such as Network Security, Computer Security, Cryptography, Penetration Testing, Digital Image Processing, Computer Forensic, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Technology, Number Theory and Defensive Programming.

              Desired Qualifications

  • BSC in Cyber Security and Forensic Computing/ Computer Science/Computer Engineering/ Information Systems or equivalent
  • Candidate should be enrolled or prepared to enrol for MSc degree in Cyber Security and Forensic Computing.
  • Holder of a Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is a distinct advantage.
  • Having relevant Professional Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Hacker (CEH) is a further added advantage.
  • Experience in developing and teaching online courses is an added advantage.

  3.2    Post B- Assistant Lecturer- Business Intelligence and Data Analytics

           Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students ‘research work, carry out research and have practical experience in Data Science including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Processing, Data Mining, Data Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Computer Vision, Computational Mathematics, Simulation Modelling, Artificial Intelligence, Expect Systems and Smart Applications.              

            Desired Qualifications

  • BSC in Data Science/ Data Analytics/ Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Candidate should be enrolled or prepared to enrol for MSc degree in Data Science/ Data Analytics or equivalent.
  • Position of a Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Holding of a relevant Professional Certifications such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), is an added advantage.
  • Having a Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience in developing and teaching online courses is a further added advantage.

3.3    Post C- Assistant Lecturer- Computer Systems Engineering

           Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students ‘research work, carry out research and have practical experience of  Computer Engineering technical skills such as Fabrication Technologies for Micro and Nano Devices, Control Systems Engineering, Microprocessors & Microcontrollers, Image Printing and Prototyping Laboratory.              

            Desired Qualifications

  • BSC in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/ Computer and Telecommunication Engineering or equavalent
  • Candidate should be enrolled or prepared to enrol for MSc Computer Systems Engineering/ Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Tertiary Education or equivalent is an added advantage.
  • Holding of a relevant Professional Certifications such as CompTIA, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a distinct added advantage.
  • Experience in developing and teaching online courses is a further advantage.

Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 main categories which are:

  1. Teaching 

The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and or Faculty guidelines and standards.

  1. University Service and Community Engagement

The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.

  1. Research 

The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

  1. Innovations 

Innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.

  1. Industrialisation 

Through commercialisation of goods and services.
