1. DEPARTMENT OF AGRONOMY
1.1 Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor (1 Post)

  Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules in:

Cropping Systems.
Nutrient Cycling and Waste Management.
Integrated Pest Management.
Grass & Forage Production and Principles of Agro ecology.
Principles of Crop Production.
Principles of Generics.
Crop Improvement.
Crop Physiology and Ecology.
Plant Biotechnology.

             Qualifications and Experience

MSc in Crop Science or equivalent.
BSc in Agriculture or related field.
A PGDE qualification is an added advantage.
A PhD is a distinct advantage.

2. COMPUTER SCIENCE AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS
2.1 Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor Cyber Security (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules:

Introduction to Information Security.
Internet of Things and Operational Technology Security.
Payment Systems and Fraud.
Secure Coding.
Cryptography and Security.
Mobile Forensics.

            Qualifications and Experience

MSc in Cyber Security/ Information Security/Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent.
BSc in Cyber Security/ Information Security/Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent.
A PhD in Cyber Security/Information Security/Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent is an added advantage.
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)/ CompTIA Security is a further added advantage.
A PGDE qualification is an added advantage is a distinct advantage.

2.2 Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor –Information Systems(1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules:

Visual Programming.
Object Oriented Programming.
Mobile Computing.
Principles of Programming.
Software Engineering.

             Qualifications and Experience

MSc in Information Systems/Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent.
BSc in Information Systems/Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent.
A PhD in Information Systems/Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent is an added advantage.
A PGDE qualification is a further addedadvantage.

2.3 Lecturer/ Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor/Professor –Computer Science (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate must be capable of teaching and supervising undergraduate students’ research work, carry out research and should be able to teach at least three (3) of the following modules:

Computer Security.
Artificial Intelligence.
Computer Graphics Number Theory.
Principles of Programming.

          Qualifications and Experience

MSc in Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent.
BSc in Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent.
A PhD in Computer Science/Computer Systems Engineering or equivalent is an added advantage.
A PGDE qualification is a further added advantage.

​​Please note that the duties and responsibilities of a Lecturer/Senior ​​Lecturer/Associate Professor and Professor are grouped into 5 ​​     pillars of education 5.0 as follows:

I. Teaching

The incumbent is expected to teach or deliver lectures in accordance to the Department and/or Faculty guidelines and standards.

II. University Service and Community Engagement

The incumbent should participate in all Department, Faculty/School and University activities such as attending meetings, training workshops, conferences, committees and seminars, among others.

III. Research

The incumbent is expected to engage in active research in his/her area of specialization which benefits both the students and the University.

IV. Innovation

The incumbent is expected to engage in innovations which should lead to production of goods and services.

V. Industrialisation

The incumbent is expected to be industrial through commercialisation of goods and services.
