
With over two decades of expertise in university finance offices, Mr. Victor Takunda Japu is a distinguished Certified Public Accountant and a proud alumnus of Midlands State University, holding both a Bachelors Honors Degree and a Masters Degree in Accounting. Certified by the Public Accountants and Auditors Board (PAAB), his commitment to continuous learning is evident through his qualifications in Higher Education Management from the University of Witwatersrand, RSA, and Galilea Institute of Management, Israel. His illustrious career journey, which commenced in 1998, has seen him excel in various accounting and finance roles in both private and public sectors. Joining Midlands State University in 2000 as an Accounting Assistant, his dedication led him to the role of Deputy Bursar (Accounting and Finance) in 2009, where he honed his strategic financial acumen. Transitioning to establish the finance office at the former MSU-Manicaland College of Applied Sciences (now MSUAS) in Mutare in 2015, Mr Japu has played a pivotal role in overseeing critical operational functions such as Accounting, Budgeting, Investments, Risk Management, and more. Mr Japu remains steadfast in his commitment to fostering transparent, accountable, and efficient financial management systems at MSUAS to enhance campus planning, capital financing, and the institution’s overall growth trajectory.
