1.         VICE CHANCELLORS OFFICE

1.1       INTERNAL AUDITOR (1 POST)

            Duties and Responsibilities

The Internal Auditor will assist the Chief Internal Auditor on the following:

  • Preparing Annual Audit Plans.
  • Prepare audit programs.
  • Performing audit inspection and reviews.
  • Coming up with recommendations to improve work processes and procedures.
  • Compiling audit reports for the areas.
  • Assisting in implementation of external audit plan.
  • Assisting in conducting fraud and other special investigations.
  • Conducting follow up audits.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

  Desired Qualification

  • First degree in Accounting/Auditing or equivalent.
  • Masters Degree in Accounting/Auditing or equivalent
  • Two years post qualification relevant experience.
  • Membership to a professional body.
  • Certified Internal Audit would be an added advantage.
  • Class 4 driver’s licence.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft, Excel, Power Point.

1.2      WORK RELATED LEARNING

            ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, WORK RELATED LEARNING       (1 POST)

       Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordination of Work Related Learning activities.
  • Scheduling Work Related Learning trips
  • Creating and maintaining a work related learning data base
  • Performing work related learning duties as assigned by the supervisor.

      Desired Qualification

  • First Degree in humanities/Arts/management/administration or equivalent.
  • At least 12 months post qualification experience.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

2.   REGISTRY DEPARTMENT

2.1 PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT REGISTRAR, EXAMINATIONS (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Director in implementation and monitoring Exam policies.
  • Assisting in ensuring that policies, rules, regulations and SOPs are adhered to by Examination staff, Chairpersons and Chief Examiners.
  • Providing necessary administrative guidance needed in smooth running of Exams.
  • Printing and Packaging exams.
  •  Assisting in drafting examinations calendar of events.
  • Carrying out any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • At least a first degree in management or related field.
  • A Master’s degree is a must have.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position preferably in a university environment.
  • Understanding of student progression.

2.2      MESSENGER (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recording incoming and outgoing mail daily.
  • Receiving and sorting out incoming mail before delivering to intended offices.
  • Collecting internal mail/documents from offices and delivering to intended offices.
  • Maintaining confidentiality on all documents/mail.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 5’ O level passes including English.
  • A minimum of one-year experience as a messenger or performing related duties.
  • Experience in a tertiary institution is an added advantage.

3.   BURSAR’S DEPARTMENT

3.1 PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT BURSAR, ACCCOUNTING AND FINANCE

       (1 Post)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the completeness and accuracy of accounting transactions.
  • Overseeing the receipting and reconciliations of GL accounts and cashbooks.
  • Liaising with the Deputy Bursar in preparation of periodic financial statements.
  • Liaising with auditors during audits.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance.
  • At least four years working Experience.
  • Professional qualification is an added advantage.

3.2      PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT BURSAR – PAYABLES (1 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Staff in the payables Section.
  • Controlling travel and subsistence allowance by ensuring accounting of funds within stipulated period.
  • Ensure correct and timeous payment to suppliers.
  • Reconciliations of supplier statements and issuing of tax artifacts.
  • Preparation of audit schedules and attending to auditors.
  • Any other supervisor duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Desired Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc in Accounting / Finance.
  • 5 O’ levels passes including English and Mathematics.
  • At least 7 years working experience.

3.3   PRINCIPAL ASSISTANT BURSAR – STUDENT ACCOUNTS (1 POST)

      Duties and responsibilities

  • Supervision of staff in the Students Accounts Section.
  • Overseeing the timeous and accurate billing of students.
  • Monitoring, reconciliation and collecting dues from student’s receivables.
  • Preparation of year end Audit schedules.
  • Any other supervisor duties as assigned by the supervisor.

      Desired qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 5 O’ Levels passes including English and Mathematics.
  • At least 7 years working experience.

3.4      ASSISTANT BURSAR – SALARIES (1 POST)

 Duties and Responsibilities

  •    Prepare correct employees’ compensation at the end 0f each month using the existing payroll system.
  •    Reconciliations to statutory obligations and other payroll creditors.
  •    Reconciling located Payroll Control Accounts.
  •    Ability to respond to Staff queries on payroll matters. 
  •    Any other supervisor duties as assigned by the supervisor.

           Desired Qualification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • 5 O’ Levels passes including English and Mathematics / Accounts.
  • At least 4 years working experience.
  • Knowledge of Taxation of employees is a must.

3.5     ASSISTANT BURSAR – PLANNING SYSTEMS AND CONTROL        (2 POSTS) 

              Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of annual budgets for the University.
  • Preparation management accounts.
  • Costing of University programs and products.
  • Administration of various university accounting systems.
  • Preparation of income statements for various university activities.
  • Any other supervisor duties as assigned by the supervisor.

                Desired Qualifications

  • BSc in Accounting / Business Management.
  • 5 O’ Levels passes including English and Mathematics.
  • At least 2 years working experience.

4.   DIVISION OF STUDENT AFFAIRS

 

DIRECTOR STUDENT SERVICES AND RESIDENCE (1 POST)

             Duties and Responsibilities

  • Managing on and off campus accommodation for students.
  • Overseeing the process of assigning student accommodation.
  • Developing and implementing programs that better community.
  • Developing and enforcing policies related to housing.
  •  Creating a supportive and inclusive environment fostering student’s success and well-being.

       Desired Qualification

  • First Degree in Humanities/Social Sciences/Management/Administration or equivalent.
  • A relevant Master’s degree or equivalent.
  • At least 4 years experience dealing with students.

5.        WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

             MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – PAINTER (1 POST)

          Duties and Responsibilities

  • Painting of new and old buildings.
  • Patching and crack filling in buildings.
  • Paint tinting to specifications.
  • Painting of roofs, facias and windows.
  • Any other duties as directed by HOD.

        Desired Qualification

  • Class 1 artisan certificate.
  • Drivers license is an added advantage.
