MSUAS Students Hogs limelight at ZITS Games

In a powerful display of talent and discipline, Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS) students hogged limelight at the ZITS games held in Harare recently.

Among the students were Dylan Nyarumwe, Trevor Kadzima and Michael Senzere who competed in basketball, volleyball as well as Paralympic track and field events.
MSUAS representatives secured multiple medals and earned prestigious national team selections.

Nyarumwe clinched silver medals in both Javelin and Long Jump, while Kadzima and Senzere secured gold in basketball and volleyball, respectively.

Both Kadzima and Senzere will represent Zimbabwe at the Confederation of Universities and Colleges Sports Association (CUCSA) Region V Games in Botswana, scheduled for June 28 to July 5, 2026.

Commenting on the achievement, MSUAS Vice Chancellor, Professor Albert Chawanda, lauded the athletes for embodying the University’s core values of excellence and perseverance.
“The triumphs of Dylan Nyarumwe, Trevor Kadzima, and Michael Senzere serve as a testament to the caliber of scholars we cultivate at MSUAS. By competing at the highest echelon of collegiate sport, these ambassadors have reflected our institutional commitment to the development of the ‘whole person,” said Prof Chawanda.

“On behalf of the University community, I extend my profound congratulations. Their tenacity has not only authored a new chapter of personal success but has significantly fortified our institution’s reputation on the national sporting stage.”

As MSUAS celebrates a decade of academic and extracurricular success, the achievements of these three athletes stand as a beacon of inspiration for the entire university community.
